IBJ Awards 201104 Jan 2012
The IBJ Awards are dedicated to the maritime dry bulk industry, recognising the achievements by companies who are improving efficiency, safety and environmental protection within the global maritime bulk market. The Innovative Technology Award was presented to PSM in recognition of new developments to ClearView, its oily water overboard discharge monitoring system which helps achieve MARPOL compliance through the prevention of accidental pollution.
Commenting on winning the award, Geoff Taylor, Managing Director of PSM, said: “PSM is delighted to accept the IBJ Innovative Technology award for 2011 in recognition of the changing nature of our ClearView system.
“Developed to meet increasingly stringent international environmental legislation, ClearView addresses a very real need for our customers to monitor, record and control the treatment and overboard discharge of oily-water in order to comply with MARPOL and provide the required data for PSC inspections. Fleet owners and operators are now adopting ClearView and operating results are proving the value of the system.
“Building on the success of ClearView to date, further software modules will soon be available which offer additional monitoring and control functions, including oil record book automation, bunker fuel stock monitoring, and ballast water treatment.”
The IBJ Awards 2011 took place in November 2011 at the Hilton Hotel, Antwerp, with a gathering of almost five hundred guests from the maritime bulk industry worldwide. The award for Innovative technology was sponsored by the Fednav Group.
